OUR SUPPLIERS
Our accessories are made using rustic Merino sheep wool from the Andes, carefully sheared by their own shepherds. The wool is then spun and carded in Lima by a small family-owned business, Lanas Andinas, with whom we have maintained a commercial relationship for over 14 years.
Rustic Merino wool is strong and durable, yet it naturally biodegrades when the time comes. Its production requires significantly less energy than the manufacturing of synthetic fibers. It also generates fewer carbon dioxide emissions, resulting in a low carbon footprint.
For dyeing, we use Lanaset dyes, which are biodegradable and have a low environmental impact. However, we choose not to use solid colors to minimize the use of dyes even further.
Our embroidery is done with locally produced Peruvian cotton, grown from non-genetically modified seeds, sourced directly from La Colonial Fábrica de Hilos S.A.
For our bags, we use rustic Peruvian cotton canvas from the San Jacinto S.A. factory. The fabric is then dyed using plants at Eco-Tintes, an ecological dyeing facility in Chancay, north of Lima, along with our yarns.
All our metal accessories are made from Zamac, an alloy of zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and copper. This material was developed by the New Jersey Zinc Company in the 1920s, and its name is a German acronym of the metals that compose the alloy.
