OUR
STORY

Our story is a love story…

A simple tale of passion, inspiration, and commitment…
At Karin de la Sierra, we believe that there are different ways to create fashion—like ours, rooted in respect for people and a deep love for nature, for our Pachamama (Mother Earth)…

Every collection is designed with these principles at heart, creating unique, handcrafted pieces that honor the natural rhythm of creation.

We don’t just offer beauty; we strive to bring beauty into the lives of the artisans who craft our accessories

Karin de la Sierra mission extends beyond handmade fashion – it’s about bridging distances, evoking emotions, and exploring new creative horizons through art, craftsmanship, and heritage.

Our lines of handcrafted accessories, meaningful and with a lot of history, are made by us, for you.

FAIR TRADE BUSINESS PRACTICES AND SUSTAINABILITY ARE INHERENT TO THE BRAND

Karin de la Sierra was founded on the principles that change is possible. It meant building a brand that prioritize transparency, empowers everyone in the supply chain, and ensures that the health of our beautiful planet is the top priority before every decision we make.

My appreciation for and desire to protect my country, it’s textile traditions, and our beautiful planet—a magnificent natural world—are deeply ingrained in me. My love for fashion led me to study fashion design and management, but beyond my studies, I am a curious researcher and a history enthusiast.

In addition, as the country coordinator for Peru in the international Fashion Revolution movement, my goal is to re-educate people on the true value of their clothing. It should be more than just our second skin—it lives with us, accompanies us through a lifetime of experiences, and, at the end of its cycle, should find its way back into a circular industry where it can be repurposed or reused.

TRACEABILITY

In the world of Karin de la Sierra, all our accessories are ethically and fairly made. That is why we work in direct collaboration with artisans, with them we create new job opportunities, support the effort to preserve our culture, and provide fair trade opportunities, training, and employment development. We promote production within a new economy that values transparency.

DOING THINGS DIFFERENTLY

Making fashion fair is the same as making something beautiful…

I love fashion… But it’s sad to know that behind this glamorous world, there is an industry that urgently needs to be fixed. That’s why it didn’t take me long to decide to contribute by showing my country that change is possible.

A fashion that works for everyone… That protects biodiversity, ecosystems, forests, animals, soil, water, rivers, and oceans…

A brand made in Peru that helps demonstrate we can create a better place to live while leaving a positive impact on the Peruvian fashion industry.

THAT STOPS—NOT FUELS—CLIMATE CHANGE, EXPLOITATION, AND HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS.

INSPIRATION

I am inspired by the Sierra, that horizon where green meets blue—the mountains covered in ichu and the vast highland sky painted in deep blue. It is a place close to the heavens, where alpacas roam and silence allows us to embrace the gentle reflection that city life so often denies us.

I am drawn to the colors that, like strokes on a canvas, bring this landscape to life—this mystical land rich in traditions, customs, and heritage. The vibrant hues of its clothing, the mastery of ancient techniques as old as our very existence, passed down as a beautiful legacy from generation to generation, like the skills handed down from grandmother to mother to daughter.

I am inspired by craftsmanship that is intertwined with identity as a form of both individual and collective creativity, and as a physical manifestation of beliefs and values that embody the past heritage, my ancestors, and the future aspirations of the artisan women of my country.
